Call for Abstracts

There is no immediately upcoming deadline.

One of the goals of the Experimental Philosophical Aesthetics project is to facilitate the transfers of knowledge and skills between researchers of diverse backgrounds. We think promoting works of early career researchers is an effective way to accomplish that goal.

To that end, we have reserved a presentation slot for each of our X-Phi Aesthetics workshops for an early career researcher — that is, someone who is currently a postgraduate student or who received his or her PhD within the last three years or who is not employed in a tenure-track or permanent position.

We invite submission of abstracts of 500 words from early career philosophers for presentation. The research described in the abstract must either engage with the relevant workshop’s topic or contain an empirical element. It should be suitable for a 30-minute presentation. Abstracts will be selected on the basis of philosophical quality and relevance to the project’s aims.

Please send an abstract suitable for anonymous review as an attachment to xphiaesthetics[at] Please include in the text of the email: your name, contact information, current affiliation, and the workshop topic.

Researchers whose abstracts are selected for presentation will receive reimbursement for their lodging and within-UK travel expenses. Researchers from anywhere are eligible for the reimbursement. Underrepresented minorities are especially encouraged to apply.
